What happens if you banish prisoners to a desert island and leave them to their own devices? "Would they kill each other? Would they form their own society? Would it be based on equality or authority?" These questions were the starting point for Rothman's story about a prison island where a brutal tyranny reigns and the few women are kept as slaves. The newly arrived Carmen dares to rebel with them and a few renegade men. After a victory won with much blood, something like a social utopia of peaceful coexistence emerges.
