Telli Davul EN

Telli Davul takes its name from the term "Telli Davul", which was used by the musicians in the old orchestras of Istanbul to describe the bass guitar, and traces its roots back to the folk rock & pop of the 1970s. They interpret traditional music and original compositions from Anatolia in their own style with psychedelic motifs and also improvise with yaylı tambour and Çağlama instruments, usually with melodic bass accompaniment.

Muaz Ceyhan (vocals, tambour and Çağlama), Maya Muz (keyboards), Danae Palaka (drums) and Özer Ateş (bass).

1970 lerin Folk Rock & Pop izlerini süren Telli Davul, ismini İstanbul'un eski orkestralarındaki müzisyenlerin bas gitara yakıştırdıkları "Telli Davul" tabirinden alıyor. Anadolunun geleneksel müziğini ve özgün bestelerini psikedelik motiflerle kendi tarzlarında yorumlarken, genelde melodik bas eşlikleri ile Yaylı tambur ve Çağlama enstrümanlarını kullanarak doğaçlamalara da yer veriyor. Vokal, yaylı tambur ve çağlama da Muaz Ceyhan, tuşlu çalgılar da Maya Muz, davul da Danae Palaka ve bas gitar da Özer Ateş var.

Blending traditional Anatolian music and their original compositions with psychedelic motifs, the band brings their unique style to life. They often incorporate improvisations using melodic bass accompaniments alongside stringed instruments like the Yaylı Tambur and Çağlama.
