Do you feel the urge to move? This workshop is about making participants more familiar with the body and movement. We will show how music and dance can be used as body language to express situations and emotions. Based on our particular experience of identity as identical twins, we look at the interface between the individual and society, the need for love and the need for independence.

We believe that dance should tell something about real life in today's world. When we dance, we want to communicate something. For us, that is also the purpose of choreography. We address socially relevant topics such as virtual life on the internet, youth mania and bullying.

In the "dance lab", young people become part of a production and create a choreography with us that they can identify with. Ideally, they will get to know themselves better and perhaps also discover new aspects of their own personality.

The dance labs are created in cooperation with Balletto, the dance and ballet school in Wetzlar:

The twins Giuseppe and Michele De Filippis were born in Brindisi (Italy). They completed their dance training in Rome at the Centro Internazionale Danza, I.A.L.S., in Mantua at the Libera Universita Danza e Teatro, at the Cornich College of the Art (USA) and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where they graduated in 1997 under the direction of the famous choreographer Pina Bausch.

For many years, both brothers worked as soloists and choreographers at the Staatstheater Darmstadt under the direction of Brigitta Trommler. This was followed by engagements at the Stadttheater Heidelberg and the Teatro dell'opera di Roma.

For over 20 years, the De Filippis twins have also regularly presented their own productions as freelance choreographers and dancers. Their dance performances have taken them to international stages, including in collaboration with Compagnia della Rancia, Dalton & Hartel Dance Company, Silvano Bussotti, Charleroi Danse, Helena Waldmann and Sandra Fuciarelli with the Limon Company.

Giuseppe and Michele De Filippis have been teaching students aged 3 to 83 in their own dance school BALLETTO in Dutenhofen(www.balletto.de) since 2016.
