The two former Heinrich Heine scholarship holders have published new novels in 2024. Ulla Lenze's "Das Wohlbefinden" was on the longlist for the German Book Prize. Isabelle Lehn's "Die Spielerin" was highly praised in the feature pages. From the German Empire to the present day, Ulla Lenze portrays three women's lives who experience liberation and advancement and yet are unable to save themselves from the threat of losing their significance. In "Die Spielerin", Isabelle Lehn creates an ambivalent heroine who knows how to make the most of her inconspicuousness. An exciting game with our own expectations. Inspired by a true story.
