Swinging jazz duets on two pianos: CHRIS HOPKINS meets his PIANO FRIENDS feat. JEAN-BAPTISTE FRANC (Paris) >The Great American Songbook - and more!< from George Gershwin to Duke Ellington
Every year, the multi-award-winning German-American swing jazz musician Chris Hopkins invites a new guest of international stature as part of his "Piano Friends" series - this time the exceptional young pianist Jean-Baptiste Franc from Paris, who has already shone as a soloist in the sold-out Allten Oper Frankfurt.
The program includes swinging piano duets inspired by masters such as Fats Waller, Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson as well as cleverly arranged titles from the swing era and the "Great American Song Book" from George Gershwin to Duke Ellington. Enormous wit and great joy in brilliant and rousing improvisation are the order of the day. Casual, rousing, entertaining.
