Swing Manouche: Elias Prinz Trio & Strings

In the organizer's words:

Strongly influenced by the musical language of the Sinti, Django Reinhardt and the modern Parisian jazz manouche scene, Elias Prinz masters the art of elegantly weaving contemporary elements into these influences. He has found his own sound - virtuosic, but always melodic and with great sensitivity, sometimes complex, but never cerebral.

He has been performing in clubs and at festivals throughout Europe since his teenage years. Through close friendships with Sinti musicians, Elias immersed himself deeply in the music and tradition and thus developed his authentic, melodically unmistakable style, which brings the fire and beauty of this music to life.

Together with rhythm guitarist Jean-Baptiste Delattre from Paris and Munich-based double bassist Ida Valentina Koch, they present a concert program of original compositions, newly interpreted gems of jazz literature and selected pieces by Django Reinhardt, which are performed in Elias' finely tuned arrangements for two guitars, double bass, violin, cello and clarinet. The trio was recently awarded 1st prize at the Munich Kurt Maas Jazzaward 2023 and will now present their first joint album at this concert.

The concert will take place at Einstein Kultur in Hall 4 and starts at 20:00. Seating is free at this concert.
