What one star can't do alone, many can

Whether you are a little or a big artist: use the pre-Christmas period to get creative and do good at the same time! From November 25, craft templates will be available at all Volksbank in Ostwestfalen branches and on the bank's website for you to design your own personal Christmas star.

Whether painted, glued or modeled: Every star counts! For every star you make and return to the branches, Volksbank in Ostwestfalen will donate €2 to Fruchtalarm, Germany's largest children's cancer project (maximum donation: €15,000).

Fruchtalarm was founded in 2010 when a couple from Bielefeld lost their eight-year-old son to an incurable cancer. Serious illnesses are a great burden for everyone. When they affect children, it becomes huge. Uncertainty, fears and pain suddenly dominate everyday life. Sometimes it is the simple things that provide precious moments. The Fruchtalarm project creates these moments by having volunteers (the "Fruchties") visit children and young people in children's cancer wards and hospices. Through "cocktail parties" with colorful, fruity drinks, they bring activity and variety to everyday hospital life. They also encourage people to drink these delicious, vitamin-packed drinks that they have mixed themselves. In Minden, Bad Oeynhausen and Bielefeld, the "Fruchties" are also out and about on the children's wards to spread confidence and good cheer.

You can easily download the craft template to support Fruchtalarm via the link. You can also motivate your family and friends to make a star. Get crafting and hand in your star at one of the Volksbank branches in Ostwestfalen by December 20.
