Stéphane Bittoun & Gregor Praml: TAXI DRIVER. Eine musikalische Großstadt-Lesung

In the organizer's words:

Inspired by Jim Jarmusch's cult film "Night on Earth", Stéphane Bittoun (narrator & concept) and Gregor Praml (music) hop into cabs in the most diverse metropolises on different continents and embark on a literary journey around the world. From Paris to Tel Aviv to Tokyo, from New York to Cairo to Brazzaville - the selected short stories, interviews and excerpts from novels all have one thing in common: they are set in cabs. Whether on the run or stuck in a traffic jam, whether in a hurry but without a destination or melancholy, postponing arrival for as long as possible - the protagonists of the stories always reveal a hidden side of themselves in the cab. Inspired by films, the big cities or the actual sound from the car radio, Gregor Praml accompanies the journey on the double bass and with sounds with his own soundtrack. Stéphane Bittoun will accompany him here and there in an unusual line-up ... Let yourself be surprised! (Repeat of the evening as part of the "Rush Hour" festival on 17.09.2024 due to its great success)
