In STANDARD, the world is turned upside down. For centuries, ballroom dance such as the waltz, tango, foxtrot and others have claimed to be the ultimate expression of the process of civilization. CocoonDance challenges this perception on the dance floor and paves the way for new, revolutionary and experimental dance forms.
In the dance performance Standard, the six dancers of CocoonDance present their own vision of social dance. Choreographer Rafaële Giovanola transforms the dancers into unknown, strange bodies with a new, unique body language.

For STANDARD's guest performance at the renowned MILANoLTRE festival, Rafaële Giovanola has just been named "Best Contemporary Choreographer 2024" in the current issue of the Italian trade magazine Danza&Danza.
