Everyone suffers from it. Few can name it. The patriarchy within us, what it does and why we need to get rid of it. Four courageous personalities have examined, named and fought it. Each in their own very specific way.
Laura Leupi and Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg work artistically. The alphabet that Laura Leupi spelled out to the shocked faces of the audience caused outrage last summer at the Bachmann Prize. It begins like this: "A stands for fear", and does not let anyone out of its logic. Daniel Gerzenberg's stirring monologue "Wiedergutmachungsjude" adds to the perspective, tells of manipulation and abuse on the male side - and breaks the silence.
Asha Hedayati and Christina Clemm are lawyers who represent women and women who have experienced violence. Violence that is still easy. Sexualized violence up to and including femicide. Their clients are people who have had the courage to ask for protection and file charges, sometimes in vain. Asha Hedayati and Christina Clemm talk about their experiences and explain their criticism of society and the state. But they also show where they see paths to a life without fear.
