A few years ago, he wowed the Ruhrfestspiel audience with his play "Nautilus", and now the New Zealand mime Trygve Wakenshaw is bringing his latest creation to the Festspielzelt. Using gestures, facial expressions and the fascinating agility of his body alone, Wakenshaw transforms the empty stage into a wide variety of settings: sometimes a living room, sometimes a nightclub, even a whole magician's show conjured out of an (imaginary) hat. Including rabbits. Hilarious, touching, playful and Dadaist, he tells of the "little things in life". But everything seemingly banal becomes a spectacle here, every detail becomes slapstick madness and the traditional art of pantomime is thoroughly dusted off! With "Silly Little Things", Trygve Wakenshaw proves once again why he is considered a pioneer of modern clown art. His precise physical comedy combines subtle irony with great, childlike amazement, creating space for boundless imagination.
