Shared Reading

In the organizer's words:

Opening doors, engaging in conversation, growing from words: "Shared Reading" is making its first guest appearance in Munich at the invitation of Daniel Schreiber.

Sharing the experience of literature - how can this succeed? "Shared Reading" is based on the simple but powerful idea of reading together, listening to each other, letting words sink in - and then talking about them. Short passages from texts of world literature are read aloud and moderators lead the conversation. Shared Reading is not a book club or literature circle, but a method of directly experiencing the impact of literature in a relaxed, open way and appealing to everyone.

Every participant can join in and get started straight away, no prior knowledge or reading is necessary. The texts to be discussed, excerpts from novels and stories or poems, will be made available on site and read together. Literature becomes a space for encounters and communication; together we explore undiscovered paths, listen to each other and enter into conversation - across all cultural, social and age boundaries.
