About the event:

Scope creep, the creeping, uncontrolled increase in project content and scope without adjusting time, costs and resources, is a recurring challenge in project management. The event "Scope Creep Theater" of the Local Group Rheinland on October 10, 2024 in Cologne deals with the topic in a technically sound, innovative and entertaining way.

The Scope Creep Theater "The project manager as a "fire department"!" by Dr. Peter Fey sheds light on how such extensions - partly for good and sensible reasons, partly for questionable reasons - can dramatically change the course of a project.

The focus is on the committed project manager who has to face the challenge of dealing with unexpected tasks without additional resources. Situations like these, which often occur in projects in a flash and unexpectedly, reflect typical dilemmas faced by project managers: Should you accept the scope creep to meet expectations, or should you reject the extension to keep the project on track? What impact does this have on the company, the project goal, the team and your own career?

The "Scope Creep Theater" offers an interactive platform to deal with this complex topic. Through creative acting scenes and dynamic discussions in which the audience is actively involved, a vivid picture of the causes and consequences of unregulated project scope creep unfolds. The event awakens the imagination and provides participants with practical insights and powerful impulses for decision-making and collaboration

By means of multi-perspective discussions, enriched by the contributions of invited experts, the participants will be strengthened and go into the next negotiation with the project sponsor with constructive arguments.
