Schingal nach dem Genozid

The IS genocide against the Ezidis has had a lasting impact on social and political conditions in the Shingal region of Iraq. Ongoing political tensions, Turkish airstrikes on local militia positions and the slow pace of reconstruction have meant that even ten years after the genocide, not all survivors have returned. Political scientist Thomas Schmidinger (University of Kurdistan Hawler and University of Vienna) has researched and published extensively on Shingal in recent years. He will provide an overview of the political developments since the genocide.
