Founded in March 2023 in Kassel, the Sami Mustafa & Friends project brings together musicians from different cultures and nationalities. They offer a unique fusion of oriental and western music that celebrates cultural diversity and conveys a message of unity. The quality and authenticity of the music is paramount, while each ensemble member contributes their individual skills and experience to create an incomparable sound experience.

The musical connection of these artists finds its origins in part at the Institute of Music at the University of Kassel, where some of the ensemble received their musical training.

• Sami Mustafa (Syria): Vocals and oud - the traditional oriental short-necked lute.
• Julie Massolle (Germany): Saxophone
• Feli Vopicka (Germany): Trombone
• Charlotte Freymuth (Germany): Clarinet
• Andi Grizhja (Albania): Percussion
• Ahmed Khittan (Iraq/Ecuador): Arabic drum ("Darbuka").
• Chun Kit Leong (Germany/Malaysia/Vietnam): Piano
• Oleh Lysach (Ukraine): bass guitar
