PARTICIPATION The workshop is aimed at children aged 7-11 years, caregivers are also welcome. If you would like to participate, please register at weddingaffairs@savvy-contemporary.com with the subject "Hanau" and tell us your name and in which district you live.

The children's book Samen aus Hanau by Zilan Sarah Kößler, illustrated by Clara Gilod, deals with the challenge of explaining the racist attack in Hanau on February 19, 2020 to a young audience. Through a heartfelt narrative and expressive illustrations, the book encourages resilience, empathy and hope while honoring the victims. In conjunction with the book, we cordially invite children to a SAVVVY.doc workshop where we will make seed pods that symbolically commemorate the victims. This hands-on activity beautifully combines the memory of the lives lost with a hopeful message of growth, unity and the fight against hate.

ZILAN S. KÖSSLER is the author of the book and a Kurdish woman. She fled her homeland as a child and came to Germany. She is currently training as a child and youth psychologist and is involved in social and cultural work to strengthen the rights of women and girls. She founded the transcultural medicinal herb garden Hevrin Xelef, is an active member of Flamingo e.V. and event and community outreach coordinator at the Spore Initiative. She is currently writing her second children's book.

CLARA GILOD is a French illustrator whose drawings for the Jina book combine the power of people with the soft colors of the land. She is currently working with Zilan on her second picture book, which also deals with human rights, memory and social responsibility.
