RheinPop - unplugged und frisch gezapft // Mit Nico Mono, Neuser und Holocene

"RheinPop - unplugged and freshly tapped" is the name of the new series of events launched by Nico Mono. Together with his guests NEUSER and HOLOCENE, the singer/songwriter will take to the stage at Joode Lade in Cologne on Thursday, December 12, to present original and acoustically performed music from Cologne and the surrounding area.

RheinPop offers a platform for small bands and solo artists who identify with the versatility and appeal of popular music. The evening will be hosted by Ari Reith, who will provide the best entertainment with his humorous charm. The event is supported by Joode Lade, one of the "most popular" Kölsch pubs in the cathedral city, and by Gaffel Kölsch. Both have long specialized in enriching Cologne's cultural life.

NICO MONO

If you look at NICO MONO's discography, you'll find one catchy tune after another. The musician is at home in German-language singer-songwriter music. However, his songs take him out into the world. The singer already shared his passion for travel with his listeners in 2015 with his nationally successful summer hit "Amsterdam".

His popular music with an indie-pop character has already brought NICO MONO several television and radio appearances over the course of his career. Sometimes lively, sometimes gentle beats, acoustic guitar sounds and gripping vocals come together in the songs of the Bonn native.

NEUSER

German-language indie rock/wave/pop/post-punk... It used to be different. Neuser stood for indie pop with a British twist. Then came the pandemic and something had to change. Update: successfully executed. Because they've gone one better, both in terms of instrumentation and lyrics. The last three single releases ('Filme', 'Angst' & 'Flashbacks') reflect this updated path:

Lyrics that life still writes or that describe life. Between unambiguity and ambivalence, between chaos & hope. Gems of everyday life that yearn for normality. Sometimes restless, sometimes helpless, unadorned beauty. Urgent, heartfelt & convincing.

HOLOCENE is an ambient-alternative duo from Cologne, founded in 2016. Melancholic and atmospheric soundscapes meet catchy melodies. Paired with intelligent arrangements, sound is an important factor in almost every song.

HOLOCENE tells stories about normal everyday emotional chaos. Self-doubt and world-weariness - meets hope and positive feelings. Sometimes there's nothing better than just being alone, and in that moment when all seems lost, a single song can be your best friend in the world.

Influenced by post-hardcore, alternative and post-rock on the one hand and fragile singer-songwriter artists on the other, HOLOCENE is looking for a place to settle down, rest and breathe.
