Where there is now a movie theater, there used to be a delivery room. Katharina Pethke was born here. The Hamburg School of Art has since moved into the building, which is over 100 years old. Pethke studied here and worked as a professor; her mother and grandmother were also once students at the school. But their artistic work ended when their children came along. A mother of two herself, Pethke looks through family albums and researches the university archives - uncovering the patriarchal structures of the venerable academy layer by layer.
