What is a Repair Café?

Our motto: repairing instead of throwing away and buying new.

The team members provide you with their knowledge, tools and, if necessary, small parts. The repair is carried out directly in the Repair Café using your knowledge of the defective item.
Active participation in the repair is desired, we are also interested in passing on the knowledge of how to carry out such repairs.

What can be repaired?
Our team members have successful repair experience and tools or auxiliary materials in the following areas.

• Books, albums, pictures, picture frames
• Children's bicycles
• ceramics
• Household electrical appliances

The repairs are limited to areas that cannot be commissioned commercially. Minor scope, advanced age of the item, warranty risk (chances of success of a permanent repair) are among the reasons why repair offers are not commercially available.

Procedure
You simply drop by with the defective item without registering. For electrical appliances, bring any necessary cables with you.
You fill in the registration form and take a detailed look at the fault with one of our team members.

Costs
The service is free of charge.
Donations in the form of cake or finger food are welcome (please come directly to the
opening time) or monetary donations.

Liability
Of course we hope that we can successfully help with your repair. But of course something can always go wrong. When opening a housing, for example, a housing part can break, a disassembled device can no longer be reassembled, etc..
We exclude any liability or warranty on the part of the club or team members. We make it legally binding that you carry out the repair yourself and that we only help you with this, excluding liability and warranty. You must sign a corresponding document at the beginning.

Anyone with manual skills is welcome.
We would love to find an IT expert who can offer help with repairing software settings for laptops, PCs and cell phones.
Unfortunately, these too often end up in the bin because they have become too slow, often a new installation or correction of the settings would be enough to keep the device running.
