The fiery rock'n'roll of this Apulian band combines an unpredictable mix of sounds that evoke a pure vintage sound thanks to an urban compositional style. The songs, written and sung in Italian without censoring dialect or local slang, offer a musical experience as authentic as homemade wine.

The group was founded in 2005 by the creative talents of singer-songwriter and guitarist Dario Mattoni and saxophonist Lidia Bitetti and has been exporting its unmistakable swing/rockabilly sound throughout Europe ever since. After some experimentation with the line-up, Rekkiabilly has recently strengthened the band with an explosive brass sextet and introduced slap master Kris Sinister (Horrible Porno Stuntmen, Boppin Kids, Kris & Lou, Mammoth Mammoth, etc.) on double bass.

I Rekkiabilly nascono nel 2005 dall'estro creativo del chitarrista e cantante Dario Mattoni e dalla sassofonista Lidia Bitetti, fondatori di una band che negli anni ha esportato il proprio sound in giro per L'Europa con l'assetto tipico del quintetto swing/rockabilly e che oggi ha rafforzato il proprio sound accogliendo una sezione fiati esplosiva composta da due trombe, sax baritono e sax tenore e trombone.
La band ha condivido il palco con grandi artisti come Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano Palma & The Bluesbeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble ed altri.

I Rekkibilly nascono nel 2005 dall'estro creativo del chitarrista e cantante Dario Mattoni e dalla sassofonista Lidia Bitetti, fondatori di una band che negli anni ha esportato il proprio sound in giro per l'Europa con l'assetto tipico del quintetto swing/rockabilly e che oggi ha rafforzato il proprio sound accogliendo una sezione fiati esplosiva composta da due trombe, sax e trombone.
Si aggiunge all'ensemble il contrabassista Kris Sinister (Horrible Porno Stuntmen, Boppin Kids, Kris & Lou, Mammoth Mammoth, etc)
Negli anni hanno strutturato un ricco e variegato curriculum grazie alle varie partecipazioni a festival ed eventi europei e importanti collaborazioni.
Hanno condiviso il palco con artisti del calibro di Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Vinicio Capossela, Max Gazzè, Banda Bardò, Folkabbestia, Punkreas, Michele Zarrillo, Arisa e molti altri.
La band si è esibita sui palchi di alcuni tra i più famosi club italiani ed europei tra cui
Micca Club (Roma), Bloom (Milano), White Trash e Road Runner (Berlino), Sean McD's (Dublino), Kaf Fur Dik (Zurigo), e in occasione di festival di rilievo nazionale (Gypsyland, Rock'n Roll Party di Erchie, DB Music Zone di Terni, Festival Rockabilly di Viareggio, Rocket Rockabilly Festival di Roma e tanti altri) e internazionali come lo Sziget Festival (Budapest), FIMU (Belfort), Hutball (Dresda).

Following a some experimentation with the group's formation, Rekkiabilly has recently strengthened its line-up by welcoming an explosive wind quartet, and introducing the unofficial master of slap, Kris Sinister (Horrible Porno Stuntmen, Boppin Kids, Kris & Lou, Mammoth Mammoth etc.) on double bass.
Rekkiabilly has shared the stage with the likes of Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano Palma & the Bluebeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Vinicio Capossela, Max Gazzè, Banda Bardò, Folkabbestia, Punkreas, Michele Zarrillo, Arisa and many others.
The band has performed on stages at some of the most renowned clubs in Europe including Micca Club (Rome), Bloom (Milan), White Trash and Road Runner (Berlin), Sean McD's (Dublin), Kaf Fur Dik (Zurich )), and high profile festivals all over Italy (Gipsyland, Rock'n'roll party of Erchie, DB Music Zone of Terni, Rockabilly Festival of Viareggio, Rocket Rockabilly Festival of Rome and many others), alongside featuring at Sziget Festival ( Budapest), FIMU (Belfort), and Hutball (Dresden).
