by Nick Cave
Many people only know Nick Cave as a musician, but he is much more than that. In addition to screenplays and film music, he has already published several novels and poetry.
In "The Sick Bag Song", he jotted down memories, musings, encounters, poems, song lyrics and diary entries on haunted bags during a three-week tour of North America with his band The Bad Seeds. Lyrics of an incredible linguistic power, anarchic and poetic at the same time.
The result is a long song text about being an artist and encounters with his idols - such as Johnny Cash or Bryan Ferry. Cave writes about creative spurts, his fears, losses - death and love.
Radio play director Kai Grehn has added another dimension to the powerful lyrics with the voices of Alexander Fehling and Paula Beer - as well as the vocals of Tilda Swinton. A rare insight into the world of an exceptional artist.
