Even before the release of his debut album, US singer Ray Dalton has already achieved what many can only dream of: A number one hit, two Grammy nominations, almost seven million monthly listeners on Spotify and over four billion streams. The song "Can't Hold Us" with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis undoubtedly has anthem status, "Don't Worry" with Madcon was a hit around the globe, "Call It Love" with Felix Jaehn went gold and most recently his solo track "In My Bones" went platinum. Now his debut album "Thee Unknown", which will be released on September 20th, opens a new chapter for him: "After lending my voice to others for so long, it's both liberating and scary to now share my own story. But stepping into the unknown excites me. Much of the album is a first for me, as I've often kept my world private. Now I'm finally ready to share it."

His musical success has always stood for the power of resilience: as a 16-year-old, Ray Dalton lost his mother and only found himself again through the healing powers of music. With her song "Love Is A Losing Game", Amy Winehouse gave the young artist the feeling of being understood, a feeling that today moves and influences his music from the ground up. "Feeling understood when no one else understands you" has been Dalton's musical mantra since his youth, as he continues to explore themes around identity, the fractures of the self, fears, doubts, but also the strength that comes from accepting one's demons. Ray Dalton opens his soul to his audience, throws himself into the music with everything he has and shows how much courage it takes to open up - and how much we can draw from it. And this is not only reflected in his lyrics: his rousing songs combine influences from gospel, electro and various styles of dance music, are always carried by energetic vocals and rhythms, are as dazzlingly abysmal as they are danceable.
