We're hosting a community event at the Boulevard Theater! What does that mean? You win a ticket and a great afternoon at the theater. We will first watch the play "The First Name" together and after the play there will be an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour where you can ask all your questions. Of course, you will also be provided with drinks and snacks. So you get the "all-round carefree package" :)

About the play:

It's supposed to be a cozy evening at the home of literature professor Michael Gerlach and his wife Susanne. Only friends and family are present: Susanne's brother Thomas and his pregnant wife Anna, plus Jerome Prinz, a trombonist in the radio orchestra and a friend since childhood.

For Thomas, a gifted self-promoter, the group is too peaceful. To "liven things up", he reveals the planned first name of his as yet unborn son to his stunned friends: Adolf. The debate about whether you can name your child after Hitler is just one of the heated discussions of the evening, but it leads to the previously cozy family gathering suddenly getting out of hand. This is because childhood friends Michael and Thomas are now in the mood to finally tell each other a few truths that would be better kept quiet in the interests of a harmonious life together.

Strong egos clash, vanities are played out and the evening escalates: The discussion about wrong and right first names turns into a mind game in which the worst sins of youth and the biggest secrets of all the guests are served up with relish...

By the way:

Wordplay and dialog in the best tradition of French critical social comedy breathlessly drive forward a plot that, for all its comedy, also allows many a foreboding glimpse into the characters' abysses. After the French version, the German film adaptation by Sönke Wortmann, starring Christoph Maria Herbst, Florian David Fitz and Iris Berben, among others, has made this family satire extremely popular in Germany, and it was even continued in 2022 with THE NEIGHBOUR'S NAME.
