In the organizer's words:

The large political Umsonst&Draußen festival offers a platform where young people can experience political education and participation. Workshops and lectures with political, cultural and social content provide impetus. Numerous bands and after-show parties provide musical entertainment.

In cooperation with the Kreisjugendring and other partners, the free and non-commercial festival offers young people with initiative the opportunity to experience political participation through "learning by doing". Workshops, debates, information stands and talks offer a forum where experts and young people can come together, exchange views and provide new impetus. The culturally diverse supporting program of readings, poetry slams, b-boy battles and concerts offers special incentives.

Young people are not only entertained here; they are also shown that cultural and political life are not only intertwined, but also depend on the commitment of the individual.
