Pub Quiz

Procedure

Participation in the quiz costs €2 per person.

The quiz consists of 4 rounds of ten questions each.

If there is a tie at the end of the quiz between two or more teams for places 1 to 3, a guessing question will be asked at the very end.

Anyone who makes the quizmaster laugh by giving an incorrect but extremely funny or creative answer can score an originality point.

Each correct answer is usually rewarded with one point. For questions where more points are awarded, this will be communicated in advance.

Prizes

There are vouchers worth between €5 and €10 for 1st and 2nd place each time. A round of Schapps on the house goes to 3rd place.

All points scored are added up for each team (name) over the course of the year and are included in the year-end ranking. The winner of the year will receive a special prize.

Quizmaster

There are different quiz masters who alternate from evening to evening, see the schedule. This means that the questions are very different and there are always different specials, for example multimedia questions, tastings, etc. The schedule can also vary slightly.

Rules

Cell phone off, brain on!

The use of technical aids such as calculators, cell phones, smartphones, notebooks, PCs or server farms is not permitted and will automatically result in the team being excluded from the quiz. The same applies to printed aids such as atlases, collections of formulae, periodicals, encyclopaedias and books. Aids such as abacuses, binoculars, compasses or sextants are also not permitted (mainly because they would look strange in a pub).

However, taking notes of the questions asked and their answers on a blank sheet of paper is permitted (and recommended)

The quizmaster is always right!

If he is not right about a question and this is addressed in a moderate, polite and submissive manner by a team, he may be corrected.

Fair writing is the order of the day.

If the quizmaster cannot read it, he cannot score it.

After each round, all teams have exactly 6 minutes to throw their answer sheets into the box provided. In the 5th round, 7 minutes. Answers submitted later will not be scored. Each team may consist of a maximum of 4 participants.

And: There is no legal recourse. Quiz can be addictive. All questions may contain traces of nuts
