The true story of an unusual alliance: during the miners' strike in Great Britain in 1984/85, lesbian and gay activists join forces with a Welsh mining community. What begins with mistrust grows into deep solidarity. Pride is a film about courage and community and how we can achieve more together. Just as Pride shows solidarity across differences, "Welcoming Out" has set itself the task of making acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community visible with a simple symbol. With "Welcoming Out", allies set an example and signal to queer people that they can come out without fear. As patrons of "Welcoming Out", we support the initiative and say: Cohesion is stronger than division. Especially in times of growing social divides, we want to take a stand - for solidarity and mutual support.
