Rio de Janeiro, early 1970s. The Paiva family lives in a rented house on the beach: father Rubens, mother Eunice and their five children. Even with the omnipresent oppression, they maintain an atmosphere of love, humor and openness in their home. Their affection for each other becomes a silent act of resistance against the dictatorship that radically changes their lives. When Rubens disappears, Eunice becomes the driving force to build a new future for her family. She faces the challenges of this dark time with courage, determination and an unshakeable faith in her children. This moving story sheds light on the silenced chapters of Brazilian history and pays tribute to the strength of a woman who never gives up despite the most adverse circumstances.
