A large flokati rug, some exotic plants - Lovisa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir seems to be standing in a cozy living room. In a relaxed atmosphere, she sparks a conversation about one of the last taboos of our time, the menopause, and about ageing. She immediately gets personal: after an injury in her early 40s, Lovísa was forced to rethink her relationship with dance and her own body. This process opened her eyes to the silence surrounding the menopause and her own ignorance on the subject. She began researching and published an open call on the Internet in Iceland, inviting women to participate in her project. With sensitivity, empathy and humor, When the Bleeding Stops invites the audience to dive deep into the many layers of the female experience related to menopause and to laugh, cry and celebrate with these women.
