Potsdamer Tanztage: La probabilité du Néant

Eight dancers come and go on stage, facing the audience but isolated in their compulsive obsessions. Gradually, hip hop takes hold of the bodies, channeling the emotions and giving a common language to the individuals surfing together on the musical waves of hip hop DJ, composer and producer Shash'U. Alexandra 'Spicey' Landé, one of the most important figures in hip hop dance in Quebec, cheerfully transcends the boundaries of genres in a performance that oscillates between urban dance, video projections, light and shadow play, contemporary dance and theater. In her exploration of the human psyche, Spicey stages the phenomenon of the bystander effect. Is the witness an observer or an accomplice? The choreographer blurs the traces and perspectives depending on which eye is watching. With its incisive dance, La Probabilité du Néant questions our perception, our judgment and the consequences of our decisions. With the strange possibility of our own self-destruction, the piece also reminds us of our luminous capacity for resistance and resilience.
