The moving reunion of Lucas and Edith nine years after their separation is told.
Over the course of the day, they are confronted with the past and experience feelings of love and hope, but also grief and old resentments.

With great sensitivity, director Désirée Nosbusch directs Trine Dyrholm (DIE KOMMUNE, IN EINER BESSEREN WELT, KÖNIGIN) and Tim Roth (ROB ROY, "Lie to me", JUGEND OHNE JUGEND) in a masterful performance in front of the camera of award-winning cinematographer Judith Kaufmann. The modern adaptation is based on the internationally highly successful play "Gift. A Marriage Story" by Lot Vekemans.
