The term "genetic engineering" triggers worries and concerns in many people. On the other hand, genetic engineering can be an important tool in combating the causes of climate change and its consequences. The research project ACCeSS (Active Carbon Capture for Sustainable Synthesis), a cooperation project between Heinrich Heine University, Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen University, is organizing a panel discussion with experts from various disciplines to discuss the various ways in which genetic engineering can be used to tackle the challenges of climate change.
