Piaf

In the organizer's words:

At the end of her short life, Édith Piaf had no regrets and yet she experienced all the highs and lows: After almost starving to death as a toddler in her grandmother's brothel, her father took her to the circus. At the age of 15, she starts singing on the streets of Paris, is discovered and becomes famous and lives the dream of rising from nothing. When the love of her life, boxing world champion Marcel Cerdan, dies in a plane crash, she herself begins to falter. But despite alcohol and drug addiction, several serious car accidents and incurable illnesses, "la môme piaf" (the little sparrow) kept getting back on her feet, fighting her way back onto the world's stages and processing her pain in immortal chansons such as LA VIE EN ROSE, MILORD and NON, JE NE REGRETTE RIEN.

The evening was created using text segments from the biography ÉDITH PIAF - HYMNE AN DAS LEBEN by Jens Rosteck and from the monologue DER SCHÖNE GLEICHGÜLTIGE by Jean Cocteau.
