Philipp Schiepek & Henning Sieverts

With Henning Sieverts and Philipp Schiepek, two subtle virtuosos meet for a lively dialog, mainly with their own works and a few selected jazz classics in personal adaptations.

Henning Sieverts, born in 1966, is one of Europe's leading jazz musicians with over 140 CD releases and countless concerts all over the world, as an instrumentalist on bass and cello and as a composer far beyond the field of jazz. He has won numerous prizes, such as the ECHO Jazz and the New German Jazz Award (several times).

Philipp Schiepek, born in 1994, has quickly established himself as an outstanding voice on the jazz scene. He has performed with his ensembles at venues including the Bach Festival in Köthen, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Prinzregententheater in Munich and the German Jazz Festival in Frankfurt. Most recently, Schiepek was awarded the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize in the music category.

The exchange between Sieverts and Schiepek is telepathic - without having to use many words, the musical ideas fly back and forth effortlessly and cross-fertilize each other to create sometimes exciting, sometimes very calm music.
