Philip Zoubek Trio

With his piano trio with double bassist David Helm and drummer Dominik Mahnig, pianist Philip Zoubek has once again inscribed unexpected facets and forms into perhaps the most classic jazz format - with remarkably coherent results. Seamless transitions between composition and improvisation characterize the trio's third album in ever-changing forms. Between contemplative calm, repetitive and attack, the inclusion of a synthesizer and preparations of the grand piano create atmospheres beyond the usual. It is about the organic interaction of the elements and the logic of the interplay, it is about a changed approach to the principle of improvisation. In the Salon de Jazz, the trio presents a new program after a one-year concert break.
