Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons und Junkyard Drive

In the organizer's words:

Originally formed as a side project by former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell, the band decided to take it up a notch and unveiled the new name Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons at Wacken Open Air 2016.

A self-titled EP was released a few months later. Led by one of the genre's most respected guitarists and rounded out by his sons Todd, Tyla and Dane, the band hit the road in 2017, fueled by a huge amount of goodwill, a string of Motörhead covers and a handful of new songs bursting with passion and momentum. The Bastard Sons landed a prestigious support slot for the 2017 Guns 'n' Roses stadium tour and hit the ground running. By the time the band released their debut album "The Age Of Absurdity" in January 2018, this honest rock'n'roll venture had organically grown into a pretty big deal. The album received great reviews and was awarded "Best Debut Album" at the Metal Hammer Germany Awards 2018.

Two years later, recorded and produced during lockdown by guitarist Todd Campbell, the second album was just the tonic people needed. Called "We're The Bastards", it was bigger, better and even rawer than its predecessor, with top 40 chart positions in four countries. Shortly after the band announced the signing of new lead singer Joel Peters in January 2022, the band headed into their studio at Stompbox Studios in South Wales, UK, and began writing and recording the album in early 2022. In the summer of 2023, the Bastards embarked on their busiest festival season to date, performing at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting and many more. After the festivals, the band then had time to get back together to put the finishing touches to their new album "Kings Of The Asylum". The album was released in September 2023.

Phil Campbell comments: "It was a great experience writing this album with Joel and the other guys. We've come up with some monstrous riffs and hooks for your listening pleasure. We can't wait to play some of these songs in some of our old favorite cities and visit some new places too!"

"Kings Of The Asylum" picks up where "We're The Bastards" left off: Eleven hard-hitting, bone-crunching heavy rock songs, including standout singles like the stadium rock anthem "Strike The Match" and the fast-paced banger "Too Much Is Never Enough".
