Out Of Leverkusen. Songs & Stories.

In the organizer's words:

Our resident artists

As a city of talent, Leverkusen has a lot to offer. For example these two people: Emily Otto and Luna Keller. Young musicians who are committed to songwriting and dedicated to music - with everything they can give. And that's a lot. That's a lot of songs and stories. Emily and Luna write and sing them as exclusive resident artists accompanied by us, the Kulturbüro, on their further journey. This makes them the first artists to work with us as part of our new pop music promotion program in Leverkusen.

Emily Otto

Emily Otto wraps her songs in jazzy and pop arrangements. She makes her voice the dominant instrument even before the guitar or piano, on which she is often accompanied by her brother Dylan when she is on stage. Emily is all about everyday occurrences. About thoughts during a walk through the city. About inner conversations in the face of her counterpart. Curious situations. Melancholy situations. Sad situations.

All of this has already led her to win the prestigious and international "Future Sounds" prize for young talent at the Leverkusen Jazz Days in 2024. It also made her one of our resident artists: from Leverkusen. For Leverkusen. And always for the music. And: it is now bringing her to the big stage for the first time.

Luna Keller

Just like Luna Keller. She is also from Leverkusen. Lives here. And has already made a name for herself as a singer-songwriter far beyond the borders of Leverkusen. Want some examples? Luna Keller's songs have been clicked on in six-figure numbers on popular streaming services. The same goes for the professionally filmed videos. She has already performed in England, France and the USA, where she has recently even been featured in music magazines.

The depth and intensity of Luna Keller's art is demonstrated not least by her latest album "The Ocean Inside Of Me": Its tracks revolve in the most intimate way possible around a depression that the young musician has been battling in the recent past. They are little masterpieces of indie folk, mixed with Americana elements and with an emotional impact that moves you. They are stories of a life wrapped up in songs that are inextricably linked to music as a passion and form of expression for everything that hurts and makes you happy.

Emily Otto and Luna Keller are now performing together for the first time in the newly designed auditorium of the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium - singing their songs and telling their stories for the first time in front of a large audience in their home town.
