Traditional American music from the past and present

It is the land of contrasts and possibilities, with breathtaking expanses and pulsating metropolises. Its musical landscape is as diverse as the United States of America itself. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of American independence, the vocal ensemble Chanticleer takes the Dortmund audience on an exciting journey through its homeland. The vocal group from San Francisco, which has been performing with a changing line-up since 1978, will be traversing the nation's eventful history. The singers perform traditional hymns, folk songs and spirituals and show off their pure vocal sound in gospel and barbershop quartets. The two-time Grammy award winner demonstrates his musical versatility by also touching on jazz and finally venturing into the present with music from pop culture.
