This year's motto is based on the well-known Italian hit Volare. Italian hits from the 50s, classic culture and culinary delights, even the film stars of the time are coming to Hanover. Gina Lollobrigida, a respected photographer at the time, will give an insight into a vacation day in the sunny south. This year, the Opera Ball is presented by HAZ for the first time - the beginning of a multi-year collaboration. Advance tickets are now on sale!
From grand opera to ballroom classics to wild tarantella: guests can expect live music at various locations in the opera house. The show focuses on Italian opera classics and Neapolitan songs. The Opera Ball is traditionally opened by the debutantes from the Bothe dance school, after which guests can dance all over the house. The Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover and the Thilo Wolf Bigband invite you to dance in the main ballroom.
I Dolci Signori will get your dancing shoes on fire with Italian pop and rock, and today's hits will be played in the "La Danza" club. At midnight, the Staatsballett Hannover will take to the stage with a new choreography.
New this year: the dance cab. Anyone who comes to the ball without a dance partner or would like to be led across the dance floor by a professional dancer can "borrow" a cab dancer. Lip-sync battles, karaoke singing and small pop-up shows in various corners of the house provide further amusement.
This year, the opera house catering team will be preparing Italian delicacies, cocktails and drinks in several restaurants and bars throughout the house.
