OPERA GALA 2024
Only the "best of the best" are given the opportunity to perfect their vocal brilliance and performing charisma in the opera class of the Theaterakademie. After all, only strong singers successfully make their way to engagements in German and international theaters after graduating with a Master's degree. As the highlight of the winter semester, the opera class of the Theaterakademie will now present itself together in a glittering opera gala at the Forum. Under the motto "Love and Death", the stars of tomorrow will present a selection of the most beautiful and particularly moving opera arias and ensembles. This time, the focus will be on 19th century French opera. As in the annual Grand Summer Opera (photo: La Clemenza di Tito), this opera festival also brings together top young singers with one of the most important orchestras in the Hanseatic city: The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra will be performing. The program includes excerpts from Bizet's Carmen, Delibes' Lakmé, Halévy's La Juive, Massenet's Manon and Werther, Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann, Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites and Verdi's Don Carlo.
