OLIVIA VIEWEG "Fangirl Fantasy" - comic reading | vernissage | workshop talk
Successful romcom star Allan Dale is going through a life crisis: he wants to finally develop further, play serious leading roles and emancipate himself from his frenetic, mostly female fans. Then the perfect opportunity presents itself: he is one of the favorites for the leading role in a Shakespeare adaptation. That would change everything!
But Allan has reckoned without his quirky female fans: just as he is about to make a fresh start, three of his fangirls kidnap him. In a remote house in the Thuringian Forest, nothing less than his own personal hell awaits Allan: under the direction of the three young women, he has to slip back into his old roles...
In her graphic novel, award-winning author Olivia Vieweg sends us on a wild ride through female fan culture - funny, tragic, adventurous, with plenty of comedy, empathy and a loving wink, she illuminates the perspectives and abysses of female (film) fans. After the event, we will talk to the author about her work as a comic artist, screenwriter and certainly also about being a fangirl. Afterwards, we will open the exhibition in the Moritzbastei café.
