A Midsummer Night's Dream
By William Shakespeare
About the play
The drama about the four lovers who are chased into the woods at night by the quarrelling fairy king and queen is clearly one of Shakespeare's strongest plays. The bremer shakespeare company conjures "A Midsummer Night's Dream" out of a hat with just four actors. With just a few simple props from a suitcase and a couple of boxes on stage, the quartet throws themselves into the characters and situations in rapid-fire changes under the motto "little material, but lots of imagination" and draws the audience into Shakespeare's summer night worlds of light and shadow, in which wonderful humor and dark dreams magically merge.
