ODEON Frühjahrskonzert

In the organizer's words:

Together with Jano Lisboa, 1st principal viola of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the ODEON Youth Symphony Orchestra Munich, conducted by Julio Doggenweiler Fernández, presents two romantic gems for viola and orchestra: in addition to the Romance by Max Bruch, the Romance for viola and piano by the British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, which was only discovered posthumously, will also be performed, which Jano Lisboa has specially arranged for a version with viola and chamber orchestra. The program is framed by two orchestral pieces that inspire wanderlust: Antonín Dvořák was inspired to write his "American Suite" during a trip to the US, while Edward Elgar set the impressions of his winter stay in Liguria to music with the piece "In the South" (Alassio).

The ODEON Youth Symphony Orchestra Munich, founded in 2006, has been the sponsoring orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra since 2010 and the leading youth orchestra of the city of Munich since 2024. The high musical level of the ODEON is reflected in numerous prizes - most recently winning the Bavarian Orchestra Competition in the fall of 2024.
