NKM: Extensions 3 - NKM goes Lametta

In the organizer's words:

New music reflexively avoids the themes of Advent and Christmas. The NKM, on the other hand, heads straight for it. The collective does not shy away from Christmas fragrance/stress, contemplation, tenderness, seclusion, the mystical, dark and mysterious, and in contrast, a longing for light and warmth/harmony and, above all, camp and kitsch. There is even a little song by Cage: A little Christmas tree. Confirming and breaking with the theme are the ensemble's milestones. In addition to Cage's work, new pieces are written, whether based on the theme, whether by expanding and re-composing well-known songs and texts, or microtonally with triadic breaks. The composers include Caio de Azevedo, Friedemann von Rechenberg, Julia Schölzel and Alexander Strauch as well as guest Minami Maehara. Works by John Cage and Kaija Saariaho will also be performed.
