Video evening as part of the prologue

Anke Mebold and Paul Wolff Metternich invite you to view the work "Dreaming Alcestis" by Beatrice Gibson together in their cozy living room, followed by a picnic.

A seemingly everyday situation is interrupted by something unusual:
A woman and a man find themselves asleep and dreamwalking in their apartment while their children play at their feet between moving boxes. They discover a snake on the floor.
Made at the time of Beatrice Gibson and her family's move from London to Palermo in 2021, this experimental film provides an insight into a seemingly everyday situation while at the same time creating a dream space that explores how people deal with unplanned, uncontrollable events.

The VIDEONALE is one of the world's oldest festivals for video and time-based art forms.

From April 11 to May 18, 2025, the VIDEONALE celebrates its 20th anniversary edition at the Kunstmuseum Bonn. In its prologue, selected video artworks will be presented in the form of video evenings before the start of the festival.
