MusicMatch 2025 w/ Afrob, JNNRHNDRX, Nanti, Wannanelly, Mias ZK

MusicMatch, the conference and festival for popular music, is entering its ninth round. Under the motto "Music for a New Society", current social discourses will once again be transferred to the music scene and progressive solutions will be sought together - in terms of content in discussion rounds, workshops and lectures, and artistically on stage.

The warm-up program from 1 p.m. is open to everyone free of charge. In addition to the beer garden, a MusicMatch Court with games, DIY offers and information stands, there will be four talks with lots of interesting people. We'll be discussing the question of conscience when dealing with social media platforms and their increasingly drifting CEOs, exploring the potential of festivals as places of resistance together with Livekomm, paving the way for a dialog between Klubnetz Dresden and the new city council, taking a look at the Leipzig club study, illustrating what abuse of power in the music business feels like and watching the"Nur die Weibaz" podcast being created live with guests.

In the evening, the Chemo stage will be all about rap. Old school rhyme monster Afrob celebrates old school hip hop at its best! He has been one of the leading lights of the local hip hop scene for 25 years and has always been a welcome guest on Dresden stages - who can still remember his 1997 performance with Freundeskreis, Massive Töne and co at Brennhaus Reick, for example?

JNNRRRHNDRXX, on the other hand, is just 25 years old, but as a non-binary rapper, songwriter, model, TikTok star, actress and author, she is way ahead in the game.

Nanti is a rapper with a techno background and a Syrian family history and, somewhere between intoxication and revolt, she self-critically processes traumatic experiences, the injustice of life's great lottery and worries about relatives in war and crisis regions.

Local hero Wannanelly shows her emotional side and brings a touch of R'nB and soul into play and Mias ZK will give this colorful hip hop jam of the more diverse variety a worthy colorful frame as emcee, before the crew of Kreis 01 invites you to dance after the show.
