This time, MiQua:forum guests Thomas Kersting and Astrid Mehmel will be providing information about the memorial site and the NS Documentation Center Bonn. The plans to build a hotel on the banks of the Rhine at the site of the synagogue destroyed in 1938 prompted the founding of a supporting association in 1984 with the broad participation of civil society with the aim of establishing a memorial site directly there. When this could not be realized, the association was able to take up its active and successful memorial work elsewhere. In 2021, the memorial in Franziskanerstraße became an institution of the City of Bonn and the supporting association became a sponsoring association.

The lecture starts at 4 pm. Registration is not required.
