Müll in Köln - was passiert damit?

In the organizer's words:

Out of sight, out of mind? Is the waste really gone once it has been collected by the AWB Cologne? Michael from Zero Waste Köln e.V. explores the various recycling routes and shows what is important when it comes to treating recyclable materials. He also looks at how resources are managed in the cycle and where we as an association still see potential for the "Zero Waste City" of Cologne.

We would like to take a look at waste separation in Cologne together with you. Which waste goes in which garbage can? What happens to hazardous waste and, most recently, textiles? And what does all this waste actually have to do with zero waste?

Michael reports on our visits to the waste incineration plant and the sewage treatment plant and we would like to talk to you about the difficulties you have in dealing with your waste.

Michael Cieslik has been involved in data analysis for over 20 years, particularly in the area of the dual system and waste movements. He has been a volunteer in Zero Waste associations since 2021 and is currently a board member of both Zero Waste Köln. e.V. and the umbrella organization Zero Waste Germany e.V. Among other things, he co-wrote the Zero Waste concept of the city of Cologne and has already gained experience in the audit for the certification of Kiel as a Zero Waste City.
