A group of dancers from different generations and urbandance styles conquer the rooms of the Pinakothek der Moderne with their moves- invasion-like, spontaneous, unstoppable. Stairs become platforms, corridors become playing fields, rooms become stages. Once upon a time, people danced on cardboard boxes in the streets of New York. Now dancers carry this relic of the street into the museum.
Is this art? A training session? Or simply ajam session where everyone hangs out and swaps ideas? Maybe it ' s all of the above- or simply a space where art and subculture meet, mix and create something new. And when everything finally comes together in the rotunda of the Pinakothek, we dance- all of us, together.
On the closing weekend of the festival , Munich choreographer Moritz Ostruschnjak invites you to an open rehearsal of CARDBOARD SESSIONS. An open space for performers and audience to come and go, hang out and watch. A jam in which boundaries blurand art and everyday life become one. CARDBOARD SESSIONS is not a performance. It is a state, a collective, an invasion of the moment.
