Monday Shorts

In the organizer's words:

To the theater on a Monday night? No question about it! We are looking forward to the continuation of the "Monday Shorts", where artists and employees present specially designed programs on our small but fine stage in the theater restaurant. There is acting and singing, new ensemble members introduce themselves to the Lübeck audience, there are readings, improv shows and quiz evenings as well as quirky performances and stimulating discussion formats. The ever-popular "tastings" also continue to sail under this flag: shortly before our premieres, we invite you to take a look at rehearsals and our directing teams talk about their concepts. And the same applies in future: admission is free!

February

On 03/02, the Monday Shorts kick off with an episode on the topic of abortion in Germany that is as enlightening as it is debate-friendly. This is followed by a taster of the current musical production "Cabaret", directed by theater director Malte C. Lachmann. In order not to let the romantic momentum of Valentine's Day die down, a soap opera inspired by Shakespeare's love tragedy "Romeo and Juliet", "Good Tides, Bad Tides", will make its way into the theater restaurant on 17/02. And finally, on 24/02, the theater commemorates the third anniversary of the victims of the Ukraine war with a reading.

March

Our Monday Shorts start on 03/03 with a special guest: theater and film actor Peter Dirschauer provides insights into his long, eventful career in a personal conversation. One week later, "The Other Tristan" will follow, a reading with music to the novel "Tristan and Isolde" by Joseph Bédier, the perfect way to get in the mood for the upcoming premiere of "The Magic Potion". On 17/03 you can look forward to a charming taster of "The Fourth Meeting" and on 24/03 you will finally find out EVERYTHING about the so-called impostor syndrome - or at least some of it! Finally, the month of March is rounded off with an episode in which singer Andrea Stadel, actress Lilly Gropper and pianist Ninon Gloger follow in the footsteps of the lifelong friendship between Clara Schumann and Pauline Viardot.

April

Our Monday Shorts start on 07/04 in a classical style with a sample of "Sonny Boys". On 14/04 they are dedicated to the special performance history of the musical "Cabaret" at Theater Lübeck, from its German premiere in 1971 to the present day. Two presenters, Steffen Kubach and Andreas Hutzel, will be on hand to shed a multifaceted light on the popular play. And two weeks later, sound engineer Christoph Bergmann brings techno back to the theater and shows how sound can be generated from electricity in a variety of ways.
