Norbert Hans Burger, alias Raphael-Maria Goldstein, claimed to be Anne Frank's half-brother. As journalist Anja Scherz investigated, this was not the only lie in his biographical account. Theo Hespers, on the other hand, organized resistance against the National Socialists from the early 1930s. For a long time, his granddaughter Nora thought her father's stories about this resistance were exaggerated or even implausible. She did some research, was finally able to substantiate many of the stories and uncovered emotional legacies that still have an impact today. Together with Johannes Spohr and Clemens Böckmann, the editors of the volume "Phantastische Gesellschaft - Gespräche über falsche und imaginierte Familiengeschichten zur NS-Verfolgung", Nora Hespers and Anja Scherz talk about dealing with family stories and the challenges of remembering.
